Alexis Francisco

Alexis Francisco is a Bronx-based minister and community organizer committed to building communities of faith, justice and well-being. As Assistant Pastor at New Day United Methodist Church in the Bronx, New York, he is committed to creating radical Christian faith community that celebrates the divinity of all people across boundaries of race, class, sexual orientation gender and age, while boldly confronting injustice as an expression of faith. As an organizer with the Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition, Alexis focuses on community driven economic development and fighting displacement and gentrification, particularly for commercial tenants. He is a trainer in the Bronx Cooperative Development Initiative's Economic Democracy Training Series, which equips residents with tools to build shared-ownership of assets and collective decision-making processes to put low-income people of color at the center of our Bronx economy. He received a Masters in Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in the Spring 2016.
