Jeannie Economos

Jeannie Economos serves as the Pesticide Safety and Environmental Health Project Coordinator of the Farmworker Association of Florida, a 33-year old, statewide, grassroots, farmworker membership organization with five offices in different rural agricultural areas in the state. Her work has included conducting pesticide health, safety and rights trainings with farmworkers and working for policy change and stronger protections against pesticide exposure. She has conducted trainings for over 600 health care providers on how to identify, diagnose, treat, and report pesticide related illness. She, also, participates on health-related community-based participatory research projects with academic institutions, and coordinates the Lake Apopka Farmworker Memorial Quilt Project. She has been with FWAF for over 15 years.
